Mission Statement:
BlackBox Logic, through its products and services, will enhance transparency in the residential mortgage backed securities (RMBS) markets, thereby enabling more affordable home ownership. BlackBox will, by definition, dramatically improve its customer's innovation capabilities, risk management methodology, transaction processing, and data management, creating an inherent competitive advantage for mortgage market constituents.
Founded in 2007, BlackBox provides a comprehensive database of residential mortgage loan-level data underlying non-agency RMBS for investors, broker-dealers, researchers, and academic institutions. Recently the BlackBox team began aggregating data on conforming mortgages backing agency issued mortgage backed securities and UK based RMBS data at the loan, class and deal levels. The goal is to integrate all sectors of the mortgage markets into BBx's best in class RMBS data service.
To assist users in the manipulation of the data and the integration of the cleansed information into their internal workflows, BlackBox created an extremely powerful and dynamic software product for historical data analytics and reporting. This product is called Crystal Logic and is a web-based front-end user interface. Crystal Logic allows clients instant access to the entire U.S. non-agency BBx Data database with the ability to easily select virtually any imaginable set of loans from the non-conforming universe and quickly generate graphs, tables, and reports to help with analysis, reporting, and other client workflow. In addition, the Crystal Logic tool kit enables users to easily subsume the massive amount of mortgage data into macroeconomic analysis, relative value trading, and/or bond/collateral surveillance workflows.
BlackBox is extremely flexible in accommodating customers' unique requests, offering unmatched custom consulting capabilities. BBx provides consulting services to clients in need of assistance for their specific RMBS loan-level data needs, including custom reporting, custom data modeling support, and custom infrastructure optimization. BlackBox's elite professional services extend to support any of the clients' personal data needs. BlackBox's newly available monthly reporting package offers reports covering loan type, servicer, or vintage years comparisons. These reports can be updated upon request and can be made available either through BBx's front end application or through alternative data feeds.
